Clear Currents Rewind & The Benefits of Supporting WaterFire

WaterFire’s up and down relationship with the tides and Eric Tayler from Bottles Fine Wine chats about the benefits of supporting WaterFire.

Our guest the first portion of the show will be David Dobrzynski who was the river leader at our August 23rd Clear Currents: Paddle WaterFire event. David will discussing the success of the event and talking the importance of activating Providence’s rivers for recreational and artistic use.

In the middle portion of the show WaterFire creator and WaterFire Providence Executive Artistic Director Barnaby Evans will be highlighting our complicated relationship with the tides. Barnaby will be touching on our partnership with the Fox Point Hurricane Barrier and the various business and government entities that control it’s use; he will also be talking about the new legislation that was shepherded through Congress by the Rhode Island Congressional Delegation. This new law allows WaterFire to request a hurricane barrier closure in order to facilitate our events although we still face the challenge of paying for these closures.

In the final segment of the show our guest will be Eric Taylor from Bottles Fine Wine. Bottles Fine Wine has been partnering with WaterFire Providence for a couple of years and this year they become an official partner of the Brazier Society of WaterFire Providence. Eric will be discussing the benefits of supporting WaterFire Providence and will be highlighting some of the wine offerings that Bottles Fine Wine will be presenting at September 23rd Benefit Bash and Waterplace Restaurant.
