Bronwyn begins this edition by talking about the upcoming full lighting sponsored by National Grid.
Tim Rondo, the media relations specialist at National Grid, is today’s guest. He’ll be speaking to Bronwyn about the company’s involvement with WaterFire, for example the charging stations.
Next is dedicated WaterFire volunteer Jerry Suggs telling us what it’s really like to be a part WaterFire, and exactly what his involvement means to him.
Bronwyn will speak first with our friends and sponsors, National Grid. Marisa Albanese and Tim Rondeau will chat with us about National Grid’s amazing community initiatives and the exciting installation they have planned for this Saturday’s WaterFire (August 20th – Full Lighting)!

Our next guest was Josh Short, founding Artistic Director of The Wilbury Theatre Group, who will give us an inside look at the 3rd annual Providence Fringe Festival (FringePVD), coming up next week, which will fill various venues throughout our city with innovative performances!
1.) David Graves, media relations specialist at National Grid. David, also an Army Veteran, talked about National Grid’s commitment to the armed services and veterans and the many different ways that National Grid supports Veterans, through their hiring programs and support programs for employees serving in the National Guard.
2.) Robert (Bob) Dalton:Enlisted -U.S.Air Force Feb. 2, 1953. Bob did two tours of duty in Guam, Oct. 1954 – Jan. 1955, April 1956 – July 1956. He was a crew chief on a B-36 Super Bomber.
Bob will be at the Salute to Veterans with his organization on Saturday. His organization: The Sampson Air Force Base Veterans Association – Rhode Island Squadron is a non-profit organization composed principally of veterans who did their basic training at Sampson Air Force Base during the period 1950 – 1956 when the base was active.
They have a Monument Committee whose members are working to build an Air Force Monument at the Veterans Cemetery in Exeter, RI The Air Force is the only branch of service that does not have a monument.
3.) The Rev. Dr. Richard Dannenfelser – Vietnam Veteran who was the head of an army LRRP team in Vietnam describes his experience as a soldier and Veteran.
Celebrating 150 years of the Providence Police Department with the return of the WaterFire Ballroom and lighting up the night with National Grid.
Bronwyn and Barnaby are joined by Providence Police Chief Hugh Clements, Marisa Albanese from National Grid, and band leader Roger Ceresi from Roger Ceresi’s All Starz! The WaterFire Providence lighting on August 9th, sponsored by National Grid, was special for two reasons: first was celebrating the 150th anniversary of the incorporation of the Providence Police Department and second it marked the return of the WaterFire Ballroom for the first time since 2012.
