Today on the show Bronwyn will be joined by co-host Betsy Jones. Betsy is the management assistant at WaterFire Providence and has been instrumental in helping to coordinate all of the special events coming up at this weekend’s C is for Cure WaterFire Lighting for RI Defeats Hep C.
Our first guest on today’s show are Dr. Lynn Taylor the director of RI Defeats Hep C. In May 2013, Lynn E. Taylor was awarded a Rhode Island Innovation Fellowship entitled, “Rhode Island Defeats Hep C.” She is a viral hepatitis, HIV/AIDS and primary care physician focusing on prevention and treatment of HCV and hepatitis B viruses in vulnerable populations and on the primary care of people living with HIV.
The second guest is singer and actress Rose Weaver. Rose is a sassy jazz singer and narrator, she has been a featured vocalist with the Marian Anderson String Quartet, The Smithsonian Jazz Orchestra, The Duke Ellington Orchestra, The Rhode Island Philharmonic Orchestra and Conrad Janis and the Beverly Hills Unlisted Jazz Band, she is currently the artist-in-residence at Brown University’s Rites and Reason Theatre, will be playing two sets at WaterFire with her band New Orleans Jazz.
Our final guest today is Dylan Giles the marketing director at Festival Ballet Providence. As part of the events of the C is For Cure: A WaterFire Lighting for RI Defeats Hep C, Festival Ballet Providence senior program students will dance in a free and open performance. The performance will begin around 7:30pm at the Waterplace Park stage.
