Bronwyn and our very own Betsy Jones will co-host this week. First we’ll speak with Hong Yang, Executive Director of the Bryant University U.S. China Institute and Confucius Institute, one of the co-sponsors of this weekend’s full lighting! Hong will give us an inside look into the amazing work that the Institute is doing, and tell us about the unique programming we can expect at Chinese Culture Night at WaterFire!

Next, we will be joined by  Teacher of the Year, Nikos Giannapoulos! At the lighting on Saturday, Rhode Island Department of Education – RIDE will be recognizing 70 outstanding educators in a ceremony and torch procession, and hosting a “Showcase of Success in Rhode Island” with displays of creative and innovative approaches to education!
